Just as thoughts of sunny days and picnics leap into our minds after a dull winter, the projected grey hues of Autumn/Winter 2015 flash into our consciousness courtesy of the fashion brigade.
Don’t despair dear reader – Zimmerman to the rescue. These sisters from Australia eased us into New York Fashion Week’s vision of the latter months of 2015 with these floaty, dreamy seventies inspired looks.
What this tells us is that seventies fever (not quite of the Saturday Night variety although not without a bit of shimmer) looks set to continue throughout the year. The fashion shoots in this month’s Vogue resemble a Jackie magazine spread circa 1974.
While seventies isn’t the whole story this year (and neither should it be, for fear of walking around in one big fancy dress party), I’m cool with a bit of floaty hipster.
